Family Day! Celebrate the Art of Africa: Mali @ Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

Explore the culture, traditions, and art of Mali. Watch engaging dance and music performances with Cheick Hamala Diabaté and other artists. Take part in art activities including creating crocodiles, making mini drums, designing wearable jewelry, and contributing to our collaborative weaving project. You can also party in the Sculpture Garden with DJ Mikemetic and so much more!

Since 1982, the Ashland Strawberry Faire has been a beloved tradition, drawing families, friends, and strawberry enthusiasts from far and wide. This free, family-oriented event isn’t just about celebrating the juicy goodness of strawberries; it’s about coming together as a community and giving back through scholarships and nonprofit initiatives.

Grab a free trolley and visit 300+ vendors including arts & crafts, non-profits, food, and local businesses on the gorgeous tree-lined campus of Randolph-Macon College. It’s a “berry” good time!

They've got a fantastic vendor fair featuring 160 local vendors, a kid zone with thrilling inflatables, a vibrant community stage showcasing local talent, and a variety of delicious food. And that's not all – this year's musical theme is Go-Go music, a uniquely regional sound that's deeply rooted in the African American community, symbolizing resilience and unity. Originally from Washington, D.C., Go-Go has become a beloved genre across the DMV area, including right here in Henrico County!
