WHISKEY NOSING & TASTING MASTERCLASS

  • Dates: June 3rd, 2024

  • Location: Reservoir Distiller - 1800A Summit Avenue

  • Elevate your whiskey experience! Join Shelley Sackier, Reservoir’s Director of Distillery Education, and learn four simple lessons in the art of nosing and tasting a spirit. Using samples of Reservoir’s Founding line of whiskies (wheat, corn, and rye), you will gain valuable and applicable knowledge you can then apply to your future evaluations, as you’ll never see spirits the same way again. Our Nosing & Tasting Masterclass is for both beginners looking to try new spirits as well as the most experienced spirits drinkers! Class includes: Eyeing, nosing and tasting the glass, the Finish, the history and science of distillation, and the biology, fermentation, wood chemistry, climate impact, farming, and grain studies involved in the process. In addition to a plethora of information, folks will also receive a Glencairn glass to take home!


MOVIE IN THE PARK

  • Location: Clarke-Palmore House Museum - 904 McCoul Street

  • Price: Free

  • About: The Henrico 250 Committee invites you to travel back in time as we watch the movie, Johnny Tremain. Follow in the footsteps of a teenage boy as he decides which path to take in the early days of the Revolutionary War, meeting spies, witnessing the Boston Tea Party, and seeing the first shots of the American Revolution. Activities will be offered before movie begins at sundown. Bring a lawn chair, blanket, flashlight and your family. Free popcorn and shaved ice while supplies last! Information: den63@henrico.us


JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION

  • Price: Free

  • About: Henrico Recreation & Parks is proud to celebrate this monumental holiday. Join us for a vendor fair with over 150 local businesses, an interactive kid zone, 20 different food trucks to purchase from, and live entertainment on two stages. 4TH FRIDAY ART SHOWS AND OPENING RECEPTION

  • Dates: June 28, 2024

  • Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

  • Location: Art Works - 320 Hull Street

  • About: In June we have six new exhibits, art activities and in honor of Pride Month, we are donating our merch sales to the LGBTQ community—Side by Side VA. And of course, we’ll be hosting our popular 4th Friday reception as well as an artist meet-up and two figure drawing sessions. And if you can't make it to one of these events, don't worry - we're open every day except Mondays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to come see the new art on display. Plus, parking is easy at the public garage on East 5th Street. And we’ll validate your ticket, just ask in the office. Make a day of it by exploring the restaurants in the area like Basic City Beer, Continental, Pig and Brew, Jubilee, Iron Clad Pizza, Café Zata, and The Gold Lion to name a few.
