Hanover Tomato Festiva

INDEPENDENCE DAY AT THE VIRGINIA STATE CAPITOL

  • Dates: July 4th, 2024

  • Time: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM

  • Price: Free

  • Location: 1 Capitol Square

  • About: This year, Virginia’s Fourth of July celebration promises to be unlike any other. Inspired by John Adams’ vision of a grand festival, the majestic Virginia State Capitol grounds will transform into a vibrant hub of activity, bursting with the sights and sounds of Virginia’s diverse communities. Imagine the sights, sounds, and energy of Virginians from all walks of life engaging with what Freedom means today through performances of spoken word, dance, and music as a prelude to unifying and inspiring keynote remarks and a very special finale. Confirmed speakers and performers include:


HANOVER TOMATO FESTIVAL

  • Dates: July 12th & 13th, 2024

  • Time: 5PM-9PM on Friday and 9AM-1PM on Saturday

  • Location: Pole Green Park, Mechanicsville

  • Price: Free

  • About: The Hanover Tomato Festival at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville features rides, tomatoes, live music, tomatoes, games, and tomatoes! This family-friendly (and free!) event attracts over 25,000 attendees each year and features more than 200 vendors with creative, unique tomato dishes.


BEER, BOURBON & BBQ FESTIVAL

  • Dates: July 27th, 2024

  • Time: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM General Admission

  • Location: The Meadow Event Park

  • Price: $29 General Admission

  • About: This festival is perhaps the ultimate afternoon of overindulgence. Featuring 40 types of Bourbon, 60 beers on tap, AND unlimited tastings, Bourbon, Beer, and BBQ is a fun way to spend the day filling up on your favorite vices. “This annual affair offers up all those pleasures that true Southerners live by – Beer, Bourbon, Barbecue, Boots, Bacon, Biscuits, Bluegrass, and Smoked Beasts!” A portion of the proceeds go to Spirit of Hope Children’s Foundation.
